I'm avoiding dusting

However this is very, very difficult.

Lemon-fresh goodness.

Because I am out doing a few wedding-related things today, in preparation for the October wedding sure to rival even the Royal Wedding (with crazy hats to boot), I find my housework has gotten somewhat behind.

I can't stand this.

I really, really can't.

However! Other things need to be done. The dust will just have to settle in a little bit more. Invitations must be made. Wedding cars must be arranged. Two wedding receptions to organize, one in the UK, one in the States. Live swans, ice sculptures, toastmaster - oh my! You must think that this is all happening next weekend. And in my bridal head, yes, it is.

October is next weekend.

In addition to this, my writerly life continues. Though it may be going a little slower. I send queries out to ten agents each weekend now instead of twenty. My editing has drawn big purple X's across about fifteen more pages now - I've decided to get rid of one character in order to flesh out another. To create depth. To evoke layers of meaning. I have a manuscript to critique by one of my writers' group members.

So the dust mocks me. But don't worry, dust, I'll get you. And that right soon.

Meanwhile I take this little advice....

Happy Sunday, folks!

  1. How the hell do you even start to excise one character to beef up another?!!

    1. LOL. Tony, the best way to describe it: seeing the world in an upside-down kind of way, for a start. :) x

    1. Hi Sarah. Oh yes, just like Rosie the Riveter said.
Also, when it comes to writing, I think being crazy is at least a small part of the process LOL. Thanks for reading! x
